"This week I finished knitting my tenth Peace Fleece sweater (Father's Gray) and started the eleventh (Baghdad Blue). A gorgeous Father's Gray cardigan is buttoned on as I write this letter.

Peace Fleece Gauge Alert:
We urge you to check your gauge before beginning a project, as there are some variations in our yarn. Solid colors tend to be thicker than heathers, and flecked yarns are a little thinner still. A suggested needle size for any given pattern may not be the correct size for your knitting style, or chosen yarn. Yes, gauge swatches hold us up. Mid East Crochet Shopping Bag Kit New Design
We have re-written and re-designed our old Crochet Shopping Bag Kit! We now offer two kits, one with enough yarn for a simple, small 9 inch tall bag with 12 inch handles and the other with enough yarn to make the large 12 inch tall flowered bag with 18 inch handles. 		When the United States invaded Iraq, we looked for a way to respond to such a blow against diplomacy. All the proceeds from the sale of Baghdad blue, the color of the late afternoon sky shortly after the snow clouds have broken, will be donated to the Palesatinian/Israeli village of Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salaam. Peace Fleece Supports Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam

Abu Abed shearing sheep as Israeli and Palestinian children look on.		In response to the intensifying conflicts in Israel, Peace Fleece is choosing to support the very courageous village of Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam, through the sale of the kits shown below. Most of the yarn is a blend of wool from Abul Abed's flock that live next to NS/WAS and wool from the Maine Islands. Peace Fleece is donating all materials and patterns for the kits. All of the sale price will be sent to NS/WAS.
		Four times nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam ('Oasis of Peace' in Hebrew and Arabic) is a village in Israel established jointly by Jews and Palestinian Arabs of Israeli citizenship. The village is comprised of fifty families that live and work together on a hillside looking out towards the west and the Mediterranean Sea.
Along with their homes the families have also built: a primary school (the only bilingual one in Israel); the School For Peace, which provides conflict resolution encounter workshops for Palestinian and Jewish youth, university students and adults; and The Center for Spiritual Pluralism - a place for spiritual reflection on issuses at the core of the Middle East conflict and the search for its resolution.

In response to the village's request for aid, Peace Fleece has designed and produced the following kits to benefit this special community. One hundred percent of the money received from the sale of these kits will be sent sent to the Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam community. The yarn, blended from Middle Eastern and American wool, is donated by Peace Fleece.
