Peace Fleece Gauge Alert:
We urge you to check your gauge before beginning a project, as there are some variations in our yarn. Solid colors tend to be thicker than heathers, and flecked yarns are a little thinner still. A suggested needle size for any given pattern may not be the correct size for your knitting style, or chosen yarn. Yes, gauge swatches hold us up. But, they do help to ensure that the garments that we take such care in knitting will fit well, which, in turn, enhances our pleasure in knitting.

Peace Fleece and Machine Washing and Felting:

The good thing: Peace Fleece knitted goods will not shrink quickly in a machine washing. The garment will "full" into a soft, fuzzy fabric after one, gentle cold water wash in the machine. Because of the mohair content our yarn felts slowly, so you can occasionally wash your Peace Fleece hand knits in the machine without being afraid that they will end up shrinking to doll sized clothing!

The not so good thing: If you have knit a project and hope to felt it in the machine Peace Fleece will not felt as quickly or as much as some other yarns. The looser you knit your piece, the more it will felt. Hot water and agitation will also help it to felt more quickly.
We recommend that before you start a felting project using Peace Fleece yarn, you knit a swatch and run it through the wash on a hot water cycle 2 or 3 times to see how it responds.
